  • Thanks for this log and the photograph.
I remember the Lightning pilots, together with some 23sq members, arriving one evening at my neighbours' house to have some drinks. My neighbour at that time was Gust Beyens who was the 'Peter' of the Devils 23 squadron.

  • That's a great picture. A few days later (25july79) I had a chance to fly in the T5 two seater but I'm still searching for the registration or a picture of that one. We performed the famous rotation take-off and were back on the ground after only 25 minutes (out of gas) but what a ride. My pilot was Fl Lt Paxton. As a return gesture I then took RAF Lt Wittaker along on a navigation over Belgium in F104 FC04. We ended the day performing a mixed formation (overflying KB twice) with 4 Lightnings and 4 Starfighters of which I flew FX33.
I'm presently writing a book a (thick) book about my aviation experiences (probably titled 10.000 landings), any chance authorizing the use of your unique picture to illustrate the mixed flight that day, or even better, if anybody has a picture of our mixed 8-ship formation?
